Student Diary Usage

Please continue checking in with your child's diary each week to ensure you are aware of the homework and assessment schedules that have been set.

Caregivers are asked to sign the student diary once a week to confirm that all parties are aware of student responsibilities for this time period.

If you are unsure of the requirements of the school diary, please make contact with your child's Pastoral teacher.

Assessment Period

We are currently in the midst of the Assessment Period for Term 4, 2019. Please remind your child to prioritise the completion and timely submission of their Assessment Tasks. Students must be aware of the due dates of all Assessments and the order in which they are due. Please encourage them to develop a study schedule to assist in the successful submission of their tasks. If you have any concerns, please contact the subject teacher significantly prior to the due date.

Year 7 and 8 Assessment Task Policy

Assessments MUST be submitted on (by 3:30pm) or before the due date (unless discussed with subject teacher well in advance).

If you know you will be absent on the due date, it is your responsibility to submit the assessment prior to the due date.

Late submissions lose 10% the first day, 20% the second day and on the third day, no mark is given. However, students are still required to submit the task.

Work that is plagiarised will not receive a grade and will need to be resubmitted.

Sources that have been used in your assignment need to be referenced appropriately using the Harvard Method.

Computer / printer malfunctions are not considered a valid excuse for submitting an assessment late.

Year 9 and 10 Assessment Task Policy

Assessments MUST be submitted on (by 3:30pm) or before the due date (unless discussed with subject teacher well in advance).

If you know you will be absent on the due date, it is your responsibility to submit the assessment prior to the due date. If unable to do this, you need to complete a SPECIAL CONSIDERATION REQUEST FORM.

Late submissions lose 10% the first school day, 20% the second school day and on the third school day, no mark is given. However, students are still required to submit the task. An N AWARD will be given.

Work that is plagiarised will not receive a grade and will need to be resubmitted.Sources that have been used in your assignment need to be referenced appropriately using the Harvard Method.

Extensions must be applied to the LoC at least 5 days prior to the due date.

Mathematics Murder Mystery Activity

Year 8 Students have been learning how to create and display number patterns on the Cartesian Plane. To consolidate their learning, Mrs Lam organised for students to participate in an engaging Murder Mystery Activity around this topic.

'Courage to Care' Excursion

All Secondary Students attended the 'Courage to Care' Exhibition at the Bank Art Museum Moree this week.

This exhibition aims to highlight the importance of standing up to bullying, racism and discrimination and any forms of prejudice. It promotes understanding and acceptance of all people in our multicultural society. It tells stories of the remarkable rescuers of Jews during the Holocaust to empower visitors to the exhibition to be upstanders rather than passive bystanders.

Courage to Care is designed for school students with curriculum links in the following areas:

Civics and Citizenship, Health and Physical Education and History.

The program consisted of:

a guided tour of the exhibition
a Holocaust survivor’s first hand, positive testimony
a facilitated workshop.
