FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Schools are very busy organisations. I never cease to be amazed by the range of activities and opportunities for students to become involved in many varied pursuits. This is particularly evident at this time of the year.

It was pleasing to see so many parents visit the school recently to speak to a course counsellor about their child’s subjects and pathways selections. I want to thank all the counsellors involved and the support staff and I know our parent community were grateful for the guidance provided as they navigate through a complex process. Special mention to Sharon Bourne (Pathways Leader) for her organisation and leadership of the event.

This week also sees the return of the school production, it is the first for 2 years and I know the cast and crew are very excited about the show that will be performed both as a matinee during the day and during the evenings. I know I speak on behalf of our school community in wishing them well and congratulating Simone Wright (Production Director) for her hard work and dedication in preparing for the big event.

Finally I take this opportunity to wish Rick Taig (Year 9 Leader) and his team who will be leading Year 9 City Journey over the next few weeks. It is a real highlight for our students who develop important life skills and improved awareness of what our great City of Melbourne can offer. It is a memorable experience and our students often refer to their city journey many years after, and it continues to be a highlight on the school calendar.

These are just some of the activities available at this time of the year, and there are many more I could have referred to. They are the events that make school memorable for our students, and can only occur due to the hard work, dedication and foresight of our staff. I am very proud to be involved in such a dynamic and energetic organisation that offers so much to our extended school community
