Mambourin Campus Coordinator

Ms Lara Ronalds

The Mambourin campus continues to settle and we are excited to see more of the infrastructure go in. Our new fence, to expand our play area, has started and we look forward to its completion. We are looking forward to next week when we fill our planter boxes with soil. Together we will plant cuttings from around the school to transfer to our planter boxes. The larger boxes will be where we can plant edible herbs and vegetables. We will work with the children and families to select which ones, and the children will develop their skills for caring for the environment by nurturing these plants.

The learning program is inspiring rich questions from our children as they wonder about how things work, where places are, and why we see certain patterns in our daily life. These questions allow us to explore big ideas and support our children in being researchers. This is supporting them socially too. Through their friendships, the children are learning to ask questions to learn about each other.

Our campus asphalt has been used as a canvas as our children learn and practice handwriting strokes. It is exciting to see the way they explore these strokes at recess on their own.

Learning is our focus and we are enjoying getting to know our children and their interests. Through these interests and our direct teaching about letters, words, and sentences the children are engaged and developing their skills.

Their engagement and interest in learning supports connecting with each other to build friendships and develop our Mambourin Community.
