Around Our School
The Year 7 French Correspondents Program is underway!
Earlier in the year some of our French classes sent postcards to students at the College Jean-Louis Harmon in Brittany, France, introducing themselves and asking for correspondents. Now that the students in France are back from their summer holidays, they have sent their replies, with their contact addresses. Our students have been busy reading their mail and preparing their answers in class, but then they’ll be keeping up the connection to their own French penfriend via social networks or by real mail if they choose.

Many thanks need to go to the French connection Gwenaelle Moalmeyer, and her colleague Laurence Pierce from the English department of the college in Plouha, to Patricia from the History/Geography department and to Hérvé Thomas of the Sports faculty.
During my trip to France, I spent a day teaching at the college to promote the program and to allow the French students to find out more about our school and Australia.
In the morning, I tried to teach them cricket using a tennis racquet and witches’ hats, and in the afternoon assisted in the English classes.
The newspaper even turned up, although they did manage to get the name wrong! Article Link HERE
