St Anne's College

Advisory Council

Role of the Advisory Council explained

The St Anne’s College Advisory Council is a key element in supporting the work of our Principal and contributes to shaping the vision and strategic direction of our college. While Advisory Council members do not have decision-making powers, together we support the college's development and help the college achieve the goals set out in its School Improvement Plan.

We meet twice a term in Week 3 and Week 8 and are made up of the following individuals:

  • College Principal – Sue Carroll
  • Parish Priest – Father Peter Taylor (St Mel’s Parish)
  • Catholic Education Sandhurst Limited representative – Carla Jeffrey
  • College Business Manager – David Villani
  • Parish representative – Lorraine Walker (St Mel’s)
  • Parent volunteers - Jeni Nind, Chairperson; Clint O’Brien, Deputy Chairperson; Kim Daldy; Tunya Jarvis; Elizabeth Jones; Zara Stratton

Our inaugural Chair, Annette Jakob, who resigned at the end of 2022 played a major role in the development of St Anne’s College and subsequently the Advisory Council. She had tirelessly given her time and resources over many years to promote St Anne’s and see the vision of our college brought to fruition. We truly appreciate and are grateful for her insight, ideas and dedication.

Having been a member of the Advisory Council (formerly College Board) since 2019 and Deputy Chair since 2020, I am grateful for the opportunity to step up to the position of Chairperson. During our March 23 meeting, we elected our new Deputy Chairperson, Clint O’Brien, who graciously accepted his nomination and appointment. Please join me in congratulating Clint!

Over the coming months, Advisory Council members will be providing a brief profile about themselves to provide an opportunity to get to know us. I would like to personally thank all past and present Advisory Council members who graciously have given their time to support our college community. Thank you!

Wishing you all the very best,

Jeni Nind

Introducing new Advisory Council Chairperson

Hi everyone! My name is Jeni Nind and I’m the new Chair of the St Anne’s College Advisory Council. I’m originally from St Louis, Missouri (USA) but moved to Australia in 1999 and married my husband, Scott. Together we are blessed with our son, Charlie who is in Year 4 at St Anne’s and has been at the college since his Foundation year.

The Reggio Emilia philosophy of learning drew us to St Anne’s and I’m hoping that being a part of the Advisory Council, I am able to assist in a small way to bring the vision of St Anne’s College to life.

I come from a very large and strong Catholic family, including an uncle who was a Deacon at our local church in St Louis.

Charlie’s after-school and weekend sports and activities keep us very busy but we love to get away in our caravan whenever we can. We also enjoy all kinds of travelling and cannot wait to get back to America to see my family and dear old friends who we miss terribly. We have a beautiful Golden Retriever (Max) and a gorgeous cat (Luna) who round out our little family. I’m almost always at school pick-up and drop-off, so if you have a question or just want a chat, please come and say “Hi”.
