This Week's Updates
Dear Families,
I hope you were able to enjoy a relaxing long weekend.
Our staff conference last Thursday and Friday resulted in some great learnings about how the brain works and how we might be able to best support our students to achieve their optimum learning mode.
We had approximately 12 families in last Wednesday for our first Open Day for the year. Our second Open Day is on this Friday 17 March. Please inform any families you may know looking to have their child start Prep next year to come along and see our excellent school in action.
Catholic Education Week
Molly Masters is taking a group of Year Six students to St Patrick's Cathedral on Friday to represent St James at the St Patrick's Day Mass for school students. Archbishop Peter Comensoli will celebrate this event with students from many schools within our Melbourne Archdiocese.
St James Footy Tipping Comp starts this week
Some parents and I were chatting about a St James Footy Tipping Competition. Thanks to Dylan Dipierdomenico for setting this up!

NAPLAN Parent Information
Our Year Three and Five students commence NAPLAN tomorrow with their writing task. they will continue with other NAPLAN assessments over the next two weeks.
School Advisory Council
Thank you to a few community members who emailed me indicating their intention to join our SAC. We need to change the date of our first meeting due to a clash with our parent Cyber Safety evening next week.

A few other updates
- A Cyber Safety Presentation to be held at St James on Tuesday 21st March at 7:30pm. Student Sessions for Year 3-6 students will be held during the school day. A 60 minute Parent/Carer Session for ALL year levels will be held at 7:30pm on Tuesday 21st March 2023.
- Year 2 Level Mass this Friday 17th March at 9am in the Community Centre.
- Open Day - Aquinas College - Sunday 19th March (12 - 3pm)
