School Photo Day Orders
School Photo Day was last Friday, 3 March 2023. Unfortunately, several of our families were unable to pre-order sibling photos as the website was closed earlier than advised. If you contacted the office or returned the sibling envelope with your child to the school office, your children would have had a sibling photo taken.
To purchase a sibling (or individual student/class) photo package please complete an online order at theschoolphotographer.com.au when prompted for a school code, please enter: X1692PC46L
Please be advised, the school is unable to accept cash/cheque or POP - online payments for school photos. All orders must be made online at theschoolphotographer.com.au
Moving into Year 7 in a NSW Government School in 2024
All parents and caregivers with a child moving into Year 7 in 2024 are required to complete an online Expression of Interest (EOI) or Placement Not Required (PNR).
The online form opened for parents on Monday 6 March and will close on Thursday 16 March 2023. Please click on this link to complete the online EOI. The online EOI requires parents and caregivers to fill in their child’s details and their own details. Parents and caregiver also have the option to list their choice for out-of-area high schools. Information is provided to parents if they choose an out-of-area high school that is at capacity to help manage their expectations. Parents will also be asked to provide details on why their out-of-area application should be considered by the high schools.
NAPLAN 2023
The National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) is a point in time assessment of literacy and numeracy skills. Each year students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 participate in tests for writing, reading, conventions of language (spelling, grammar and punctuation) and numeracy.
From 2023, NAPLAN is moving to Term 1 and will take place from Wednesday 15 March to Monday 27 March. The reason for this change is so that results can be returned to schools earlier in the year which will support teachers to understand the learning needs of their students and plan accordingly.
NAPLAN tests are just one part of our school learning assessment program and questions are primarily based on knowledge, understanding and skills gained from the prior year of schooling.
In preparation for NAPLAN 2023, our school will undertake activities to help students to become familiar with the format and functionality of the online tests. These activities are not an assessment of student ability and will not be marked. Students and parents can access the public demonstration site (https://www.nap.edu.au/online-assessment/public-demonstration-site) to familiarise themselves with NAPLAN and the types of questions and tools available. Excessive preparation for NAPLAN is not required nor recommended.
If you have any questions about NAPLAN, please contact your child’s teacher.
