Stage 3

5/6M have had a very busy and positive start to the year. In maths we have been exploring the place value of numbers in decimals and how we use this knowledge to measure length and calculate perimeter. In English we are focusing on narratives. Students are working on how to correctly structure a piece of writing and striving for excellence by checking their work against the success criteria.

In science, 5/6M have been learning about the Living World and adaptations. We have completed research and created informative posters to show our knowledge and understanding.

In visual arts, we are investigating the elements of art and how artists use the elements to represent a likeness to living things in the world. One of our highlights so far has been recreating a portrait of one of our peers using sketching and later adding colour and tone.

Well down 5/6M! We are having an amazing year so far.
