Acknowledgement of Country
We acknowledge the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung People of the Kulin nation; past, present and those who will walk with us into the future.
We acknowledge the rich and unique cultural and spiritual relationships to the land, waters and seas, educational practices and the hopes of all First Nations Peoples. We do this in the spirit of reconciliation as we move to a place of justice and partnership - together we work, learn, play and care for one another and this land.
Last night we held our first School Council meeting for 2023. I am grateful for the parents and staff members who give up their time to meet together to support our school in being the very best it can be.
As a school leader, I love working in a collaborative manner. That can be collaborating with students, staff members, other schools, and parents. Together we are much more than the sum of our parts and it is always great to hear multiple voices and see things from a different perspective.
Our 2023 year has been a really busy and exciting time for the school, our teachers and ES staff are doing a fantastic job in delivering highly engaging and differentiated learning opportunities for our students and we can see around the school there are many great developments going ahead. Following on from the re-development of our basketball courts and our library, the next major project we are working on is the re-development of our student toilets.
With the support, expertise, and advice of the School Council and our sub-committees, we are continuing to enhance our school and ensure Kalinda is delivering great learning and well-being opportunities for all of our students.
In the coming weeks, we will be inviting members of our community to join various sub-committees and working parties. We would love to have you involved, so please keep an eye out for the COMPASS notifications.
Congratulations to the following School Council office bearers for 2023:
