Meet our Foundation team

Amy Ellis

I feel incredibly privileged to have started my teaching career at Karoo Primary School in 2003 and I still love being here every day. I have a great passion for learning new things and have a particular interest in literacy. I love to bring a bit of fun to every day with silly stories, songs and games while we learn. Being a part of the school community at Karoo has been a huge part of mine and my family’s life with each of my 3 boys also attending the school. It is really a great, positive place to be.

Beck Barton

My name is Beck Barton and I teach Foundation. I have been at Karoo since the beginning of 2022 and I have loved every second of it! Prior to Karoo, I was fortunate enough to work in Darwin, NT for 3 years. I loved my time in Darwin where I gained a profound respect for the Indigenous culture and our First Nations People. I love to spend my weekends trying out new brunch places or playing hockey. I also enjoy reading new books and watching movies.I love working at Karoo because of the fun and lively atmosphere that our school community brings. I feel very lucky to work alongside many amazing and passionate educators who strive to provide exciting new ways for students to learn. I love heading out on Yard Duty where students of all ages are always up for a friendly chat or a game of Teacher Tag! The Karoo community really is a special place to be and I feel so honoured to call Karoo my home.

Tiana Dias

I feel extremely fortunate to be a part of the Karoo community. It is a privilege to be working alongside a wonderful, knowledgeable and highly dedicated team. In my classroom I strive to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students develop a lifelong love for learning. I am also passionate about supporting the wellbeing, academic and social needs of all students. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, being active and travelling.
