Reconciliation

The St Brigid's Parish Reconciliation lessons will continue to be held on these dates: 19th and 26th of March following 9:30am Sunday Mass in the Fr Stan Campbell Hall.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation will take place on Thursday the 30th of March at 6:00pm.

This Friday, 17th March we will celebrate St Patrick's Day. The students are encouraged to wear green and give a gold coin donation for Project Compassion.

Why do we wear green on St Patrick’s Day?

One of the reasons we wear green on St Patrick’s Day is because of Ireland’s nickname, The Emerald Isle. The green stripe in the Irish flag also played a role. Traditionally, the green represents the Catholics of Ireland, the orange represents the Protestant population and the white in the middle symbolises the peace between the two religions.

The religious symbolism doesn’t stop there. St Patrick is thought to have used green shamrocks to teach people about the Holy Trinity (God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit), another justification for greenifying everything.

On Sunday, 19th March it is the Feast Day of St Joseph.

We will have our School Mass on Friday, 31st March at 9.30am.

Everyone is welcome to join us.

Take care and kind regards,

Mrs Sarah-Jane Canham
