TERM ONE REFLECTIONS AND HOLIDAYS

We hope you're all getting egg-cited for the Easter break! All the staff at OPPS would like to wish everyone a well-deserved and restful holiday.

We have had an absolutely jam-packed term full of exciting events and we couldn’t be prouder of our students. We hope that during this break, you will all get a chance to relax, unwind, and engage in activities that you enjoy. Whether it's spending time with family, reading a good book, or simply enjoying the great outdoors, we hope that this break will leave you feeling refreshed and energized.

And, of course, we can't forget about the Easter Bunny! We hope that the Easter Bunny will pay a visit to all of our students and bring some extra joy and happiness to your holiday.

Wishing you all a hoppy Easter weekend, filled with love, laughter, and lots of chocolate! We look forward to seeing you all back at school on Wednesday April 26th

SPARK BUCK REWARDS SHOP

As part of our Spark Buck Rewards program, a lucky group of students recently had the opportunity to cash in their hard-earned coupons and take on the ultimate gaming challenge: a 30-minute showdown with none other than Mr. Jagoe himself on the Nintendo Switch!

While Mr Jagoe claimed his lightning-fast reflexes and unbeatable strategy, the brave warriors didn't back down, putting their skills to the test in a fierce battle for gaming glory. Despite Mr. Jagoe's valiant efforts, the students emerged victorious, earning bragging rights and the respect of their peers. As for Mr. Jagoe, well, let's just say he'll be brushing up on his gaming skills before the next round.

VICTORIAN STATE SCHOOLS SPECTACULAR

Victorian State School Spectacular Rehearsals Underway!

On Wednesday the 5th of April, our VSSS choir attended their first rehearsal with Mrs Banfield & Mrs Downie which was hosted at Pakenham Springs Primary School. Our choir rehearsed along side the choir from Pakenham Springs as well as Officer Secondary. Jack from the Performing Arts Unit in Collingwood ran our rehearsal today and taught us how to sing five of our songs from the show, with one of them being sung in Japanese!

The sound that was coming out of the gym at Pakenham Springs was amazing and we cannot wait for our next rehearsal, coming up in May. Our choir did an outstanding job in representing our school and we were incredibly proud of them.

COLOUR RUN

What a fantastic event our Colour Run was! We want to say a huge congratulations to everyone involved, from our amazing volunteers to the enthusiastic students who put in so much effort to raise funds for our school. You all did an amazing job and we're incredibly proud of each and every one of you. We've been blown away by the level of support shown by our community, and we're so grateful for the generosity of our families and friends.

The rewards for fundraising have now been distributed, and we hope our students are having a blast with their new toys. We want to give a special shout-out to Maddison Bradley-Lawton, who was our highest fundraiser, raising a whopping $1280! Well done, Maddison - we're so proud of you!

BOOK SATCHELS

We would like to remind all families of the importance of having a book satchel for their child to be able to borrow books from the school library. Our school has invested a significant amount of money in purchasing a wide range of readers and interest books to support our students' learning and reading development.

However, to ensure that these valuable resources are protected and can be enjoyed by all students for years to come, we need your support in ensuring that your child has a book satchel to use when borrowing books from the library. This will not only help to protect the books from damage but will also help students to develop a sense of responsibility and respect for the books they borrow.

GET EPIC

As you would be aware, Wushka and Matific are no longer part of our book packs at Orchard Park.

A couple of families have asked the office about other alternatives to support their children in accessing texts over the holiday period. If you are looking for additional reading resources for your child at home, we highly recommend Get Epic, a fantastic free resource that offers access to thousands of texts.
