Sydney Swimming

The Sydney Swimming Championships were held on Monday 27th March at Homebush Aquatic Centre. Our amazing OLF swimmers swam PB’s, set records and stood on the podium.

The junior boys, junior girls and senior boys won gold in the relay events, with the senior girls placing third. The junior girls and senior boys both set new record times for this event. An amazing achievement for these teams. Zac B etched his name in the history books, setting new record times in the U11 50m Freestyle, Backstroke and Butterfly. Zac was also named the U11 age champion of the carnival.

Interschool Netball Gala Day

On Tuesday, 4th of April, five teams of students from Years 5 & 6 participated in the first Interschool Sports Netball Carnival at Bellingara. The teams competed against Catholic schools from the Sutherland Shire and St George area. Our players had a range of netball experience with many of our students new to netball but thoroughly enjoyed learning the skills of a new sport! All teams played competitively, fairly and in true OLF spirit, we finished the day cheering on our Division 1 girl's team in a game in the stadium!

A HUGE thank you to our volunteer coaches - Mrs Barnes, Mrs Woodside, Mrs Khoury, Mrs De Gioia and Mrs Sharratt as well all the umpires, including the OLMC umpires who umpired back-to-back games without a break!
