A snapshot on ACS student leadership
School and House Captains:
Last year, our Year 6 and Year 12 students went through a rigorous process to apply for a School and House Captain positions. Students' self-nominated, wrote a speech and delivered this speech to their cohort and the cohort below. Captains were then selected through a student and staff vote.
We are so proud to announce the following school and house captains:
School captains: Clem McDiarmid (Senior Secondary), Year Evie Shay, Callan Hayes, Naarain Saana and Hughie Hamilton (Year 6)
Hollows House Captains: Jas Gemmil (Senior Secondary), Manaia Henry, Antarveer Romana (Year 6)
Fearnley House Captains: Maddy Bauer-Mills (Senior Secondary), April Challis, Eli Levy (Year 6)
Nolan House Captains: Deklin Clarke (Senior Secondary), Eva Blowers, Spencer Huggins (Year 6)
Fanning House Captains: Manisha Tupolo-Faatoina (Senior Secondary), Xavier Fountain, Georgia Prentice (Year 6)
Last week our primary school captains had the opportunity to attend the Barwon Young Leaders Conference. Evie, Callan and Hughie (Naarain absent) collected and collated data from our school community members (students, staff and parents) about what they liked about the school and how our school can be improved. They identified common themes in the responses and then developed an action plan for improvement.
Student Representative Council
Over the past 4 weeks, students have undertaken a selection process for our Student Representative Council. Our SRC is comprised of a student rep from each home group across Years 2-12. SRC members will change over each semester so offer more students a leadership opportunity throughout the year.

Our Student Leadership team will be collaborating together on some exciting initiatives for our ACS community, the first being lunch time clubs for students! We have an immense amount of trust in our school leaders and look forward to seeing the positive impact they will have on ACS.
Keep your eye out for school and house captains who will begin welcoming members of our school community to school at the gates in the morning.
