Athletics Rising Stars

A few weeks ago, two of our Year 7 ADP students competed at the Northern Metropolitan Region Track & Field Championships held at the Essendon Little Athletics Centre.  

Both girls competed in 5 events and had incredible results and now will be competing at the State Track & Field Championships on March 11-12. 

Layla Dela Cruz-Smaldon: 

1st – U12 Javelin = 29.46m  

1st – U12 Long Jump = 4.75m 

1st – U12 Triple Jump = 9.93m 

1st – U12 80m Hurdles = 12.93s  

2nd – U12 100m = 13.50s 

Deena Gerges: 

1st – U13 High Jump = 1.71m 

1st – U13 200m Hurdles = 29.12s 

1st – U13 Long Jump = 4.92m 

1st – U13 Shot Put = 12.21m 

1st – U13 100m = 13.08s 

Keep an eye out for these girls over the next few years…we have superstars in the making!!!
