Trade Tour

Trade staff took 2 groups of Year 11 students on tours of Bruce Rock Engineering, Macmahon’s and Proform. Our aim is to give students exposure to industry practices and possible career options.

On speaking to students who attended the tour, they were very impressed with the sites visited. It has also emphasised upon them the importance of their studies and the value of Work Experience in gaining employment once they finish at the College.

Thank you to Ben Elliott, Henry Hickson, and Troy Boromini for their assistance with the tour.

Surf Camp

The Surf Camp was held March 30 to April 2, 2023 in Denmark.  I would have to say it has been the best Surf Camp so far. The students were fantastic, and staff were able to enjoy the experience as well. Accommodation was provided at the WA College of Agriculture, Denmark where we were well looked after.  It was a great opportunity for our students to be able to interact with the students from Denmark.

The surfing was fun, and we enjoyed great conditions for learning to surf. It would be fair to say that the students were 'frothing'. Lessons were provided by South Coast Surfing Lessons and Magic Mike gave the students his surfing wisdom. Most students got to their feet with varying degrees of success, and I think parents may receive some requests for a surfboard soon.

Other activities included some time to stroll around town with some Gelato, a visit to Greens Pool, with a walk around to Elephant Rocks and a BBQ dinner at the Ag College. Students also went on a tour of the robotic dairy and enjoyed seeing a different aspect of agriculture.

Without volunteers the camp couldn’t go ahead. Thank you to Rohan Trevenen, Jemma Read and Elizabeth Tait their assistance over the weekend.
