As I’m writing, we are making final preparations for the end of term Silent Disco reward event. Unlike the midterm reward which requires zero accrued demerit points, this one allows for the loss of one or two demerits in the past month, providing it didn’t involve disrespect or damage. I’m happy to report that nearly 80% of students have qualified for this reward.

Throughout the year, we offer an abundance of different opportunities for all students at the College. We use these particular rewards events, to acknowledge and give thanks for the consistently positive contribution these students are making to our College culture.

We work comprehensively with all students to assist them to grow into this space. We use pop-up rewards too. Year 12 students were recently thanked with an impromptu recess ice-cream giveaway to the tune of Mr Whippy. This was a recognition that, as a whole, they had significantly less demerit points than the previous year's 12s at this point and were generally much more helpful in settling the Year 11 students into the College.

A positive College culture benefits us all, creating a safer more enjoyable experience and allowing us all to grow and focus on success in our endeavours.
