Catholic Schools' Week 2022

This year, the theme for Catholic Schools' Week is focused on our hope-filled future.  We are preparing a Liturgy with this theme in mind & invite families, friends and parishioners  to join us for this special occasion. 

Details are as follows:

 

Tuesday 24th May - Solemnity of Our Lady, Mary, Help of Christians (Patroness of Australia) Students & staff will reflect on this significant holy day during their Religion lessons.

 

Wednesday 25th May - Primary students (Years 3 - 6) will travel with staff to Tamworth to celebrate Mass with other Diocesan Schools.  This special Mass will be celebrated by Bishop Michael Kennedy & parents are welcome to attend.  A Permission Note will be available via Compass for consent to be given.

 

Thursday 26th May from 11:30am Catholic Schools' Week Liturgy under the sails;  classroom visits;  and a sausage sizzle lunch.

Jesus’ new commandment is the key to transforming our world. 

 

As Eastertide continues, we are invited to live as part of God’s glorious plan to bring about a new creation. 

 

Jesus’ new commandment to ‘love one another just as I have loved you’ is the key to transforming our world.     

 

Sacramental Programs 2022

First Holy Communion is next in our Sacramental Program for 2022.  If your child has been baptised into the Catholic church, and has received the Sacrament of Reconciliation prior to 2022, they may be eligible to prepare for First Holy Communion.  

 

Candidates are usually from Year 3 or above.  Information will be sent home with those whom we know are eligible to prepare for the sacrament this week. If we have overlooked your child, kindly contact the school office (6746 1033) or our Parish Secretary, Ms Bern Press (6746 1133) for details.

 

Lessons commence TOMORROW and will be held in the Fr Stan Campbell Church Hall. Lessons start at 3:50pm and conclude at approximately 5pm.  Each candidate is required to have a suitable support person who can be available throughout the lessons.

 

Lesson 1 - Wednesday 18th May, 2022 at 3:50pm

Lesson 2 - Wednesday  25th May, 2022 at 3:50pm

Lesson 3 - Wednesday  1st   June, 2022 at 3:50pm

Lesson 4 - Wednesday  8th  June,  2022 at 3:50pm

Lesson 5 - Wednesday  15th June,  2022 at 3:50pm

Reflection Day - Friday  17th June, 2022 (during school hours)

 

Sacrament of First Holy Communion

Sunday 19th June, 2022 at 9:30am (Solemnity of Corpus Christi - Body & Blood of Christ)
