Sport

Thank you to all our students for a terrific start to sport at King’s College in Term 2. We have had an action packed term in our Senior School sports program, with five events in three weeks:

College & WD Cross Country

With a new approach to Cross Country this year, it was fantastic to see students cheering, supporting and enjoying the newly developed Cross Country course around our very own school grounds. A big thank you goes to our parent community for coming to support students in such great numbers. Congratulations to our 30 students across Senior School, who qualified and represented King’s College at the recently held Western District Cross Country in Woodford. Of our 30 students who qualified for WD, we now have 9 students who have qualified for Regionals at Deakin University on the 30th of May. Congratulations to Anwyn (14th), Sigmund (8th), Blake (13th), Toby (14th), Eliana (11th), Jacob (14th), Joel (5th), Jorja (2nd) and Ethan (5th).

Junior Winter Series

Our Year 7 & 8 students have furthered their passion for sports this term, developing 6 teams across Badminton and Table Tennis. Students competed in their chosen sport at the WD Junior Winter Series Competition held on May 3rd. It is my pleasure to announce that all King’s College teams were victorious and will be advancing to the GWR (regional) competitions for Badminton and Table Tennis later in the year. Congratulations to all our Junior Sports Stars!

Intermediate & Senior GWR Volleyball

Following their success at the WD Volleyball, our Intermediate Boys & Senior Girls teams advanced to the GWR Volleyball in Horsham on May 3rd. Our Intermediate Boys team, fought out some tight matches to finish just short of state qualifying, whilst our Senior Girls team gave their all, to represent the college in Women’s Volleyball for the first time at GWR level. Congratulations to all students on such a great achievement and for your willingness to participate in such a high level sporting experience.

Lunchtime League

Our Lunchtime League competition has commenced this week for 6 action packed weeks of lunchtime sport. Students across Years 5 – 12 are participating in the program, with Round 1 commencing Tuesday 10th of May. We look forward to seeing the competition unfold and will keep you updated with our results as we approach finals at the end of Term 2.

Fitness Studio

Our Fitness Studio has also featured as a part of our lunchtime activities for students during Term 2. Throughout Term 2, students have the opportunity on select Monday's & Friday's, to participate in a HIIT workout session with Mr Bail. The program aims to support students in pursuing their own physical health and fitness outside of the school environment, by equipping students with some key skills, movements and knowledge to improve their fitness levels.
