Year 8 Science

On Wednesday last week, the Year 8 students had a visit from South West TAFE who introduced them to a lifesize replica of a cow! They were given a talk and experience of pregnancy in a cow, how the foetus grows and general details about A.I. practices in dairy herds. The students were exceptionally well behaved and showed great interest in what was happening. We would like to thank Rebecca and her team for this amazing experience. Some thoughts from the Year 8 students:

"Interesting"

"One of the best science lessons ever"

"Very informative and hands-on. They were very good at explaining the information"

"It was good for some people to learn about things they may not have the opportunity to otherwise"

VCE Physical Education

Our VCE PE Unit 1 & 2 class got to explore the world of neuromuscular recovery last week. Students headed over to Momentum Fitness for a one hour recovery session using state of the art Normatec leg system recovery boots, combined with hypervolt massage guns, to take an in depth look at how the body can be supported after exercise by legal training aids.

Year 11 & 12 Christian Studies

In Year 11 & 12 Christian Studies, we are working our way through a resource called ‘The Cross’, where we explore the death of Jesus as framed by the whole Biblical narrative. In helping to understand the culture and the traditions, we had the amazing opportunity to celebrate Passover together, on the last day of Term 1. We were blessed to have Don Stewart take us through the Passover liturgy and how it all points to Jesus. One of my favourite parts of this was hearing everyone singing some of the traditional songs. Our thanks to Don, a member of a local church, for his expertise and insight and to Marko Wakim for helping to organise this special event.
