MENTAL COMPUTATION STRATEGY OF THE WEEK:  TENS FACTS

Tens facts are the numbers that add together to equal 10. For example: 6 + 4,  7 + 3,  2 +8. It is important that students have automatic recall of these facts. 

When they have developed their knowledge of tens facts, they can use this to apply to other facts, such as 60 + 40 = 100, or 17 + 3 = 20.
