Students of all ages further their skills in a relaxed and friendly environment with a teacher who understands them as musicians.

Ensemble Information

Ensemble (for guitars and other instruments) will run on Tuesday and Choir (just for singers) on Wednesday. The rehearsals will be at lunchtime (11-11:45 am) in the Music Building (where lessons are), across from Front Reception.

There is no cost for participating in these ensembles, so it's a great chance to get involved!

You can find some more info below:

  • although tutors collect students for their music lessons and dismiss them from Front Reception, students are not collected at lunchtime for rehearsal

  • students should bring their instruments and/or music to rehearsal and eat their lunch beforehand

  • students do not need to know the pieces they're working on completely, they can join in wherever they're at and progress further in lessons

  • although attendance isn't compulsory, only students who engage in a committed way will be able to perform with these groups in 2022

What is an ensemble?

Ensemble is the chance to make music in a group. Students learn songs in lessons ready to rehearse and perform altogether. The ensembles will be working towards St. Augustine's events, including Mass.

Ensembles are not the same as lessons - they're not the place to learn the material. Instead, this is the time to build really good listening and reading skills as a group.

Want to join an Ensemble?

If you want to be in either Choir or Ensemble, please let us know here.

Anyone is welcome to join Choir, even if they're not having singing lessons, just pop your details here

Ensemble is also open to guitar students who learn outside school, so long as they've played for at least a year.  Students that know how to play other instruments such as, brass, strings, or percussion are also welcome, just make sure you hit the link and enter your details (LINK)
