Trinity Year 7s v the WABC

Last Sunday, a group of Year 7 TC cricketers took on the WA Blind Cricket Team (The Venetians) in what has become an annual event for both teams.

The Venetians team comprises of players whose vision ranges from zero to 70 per cent. This year their lineup included four members selected for the National Squad due to play the International Cricket Inclusive Ashes later this year.

Always a great contest, it was a wonderful day of cricket with some notable performances on both sides and impressive display of skill by The Venetians. The TC boys would like to thank WABC, the Umpires, Scorers, and Year 7 parents for their help on the day. Both teams eagerly await the next game.

Prefect Perspectives

We all know just how busy a school like Trinity is and this week was no different to the business that we have come to love. A lot has happened this week, from the inaugural dodgeball games between the 1st summer sports teams, to the Ukraine raffle, to the final summer sport fixture and finally the start of the winter season.

The first match of the dodgeball tournament was basketball v volleyball leading to a dominant win for basketball. The match was enjoyable to watch with both teams giving it their all. The second match was cricket v water polo, an intense match, with water polo down a couple players made it difficult for them to beat the mighty first cricket. The third match is between tennis and rowing, will unfold Friday lunch. Watch this space!

The winning team will be getting a trophy proudly made by the Year 12 metal work boys, a great appreciation and thanks goes to those boys creating the trophy.

Another focus for the week was the Caritas Ukraine Appeal and raffle. This has been happening all week as we have been trying to raise funds for the Caritas Appeal where as a College our aim is to support all those suffering in Ukraine. The raffle has been a great opportunity to raise awareness for those people suffering in Ukraine and to show as much support to them as possible.

A big thanks to all those who were able to raise funds for this great cause. Every little bit helped our mission to support those suffering in Ukraine.

Finally, the final fixture of the 2021-2022 summer sport season is against Christ Church Grammar. Hopefully big wins for all year groups and the realisation that this game will be the final game for the Year 12 cohort to represent TC in summer sport. This realisation has hit me and no doubt many of my Year 12 peers.

Enjoy your weekend!
