Junior School

Ukraine Caritas Appeal

Thank you to all who contributed to our appeal this week for those communities that have been impacted by the conflict in Ukraine. The boys have been made aware of the desperate situation the people of Ukraine face, and this has been a simple way we can help. I am pleased to announce that we will be sending over $1393.20 to Caritas, including an anonymous family donation of $375 for 1 GP for a week! The parents and community have been so generous in donating. Thank you everyone.

Easter Raffle

Thank you to the Year 4 families for providing Easter eggs for the raffle. Next week the Prefects will be selling raffle tickets at 50 cents each. The raffle will be drawn on Friday.

Life Education Van

Next week, the Junior School will be visited by the Life Ed Van (minus the van due to COVID-19 restrictions). In place of the van, the presentations will take place in our spare classroom. This exceptional program will focus on being cyberwise for Year 4s and respectful relationships for Years 5 and 6.

Winter Sports Training

For the next two Thursdays, winter sports training will take place so that the boys can be readied for their first fixture, which is Week 1 of Term 2.

At the start of this week the Ukraine appeal started. Please make a special effort to donate and tell your children to donate money to the boxes in every classroom. You can also donate online via the Project Compassion website below. Every little bit makes a difference!

On Tuesday numbers were depleted in classes due to close contacts and COVID. Our thoughts are with all families who are troubled with COVID, stay safe. On Wednesday it was the last summer sport training for the term and then on Thursday it was our last summer sport fixture for the term. All the teams played against Christ Church. The boys were excited for their last summer fixture. Winter sports training starts next week. The boys in Year 5 and 6 had an extra reason to look snazzy as the photos for the boys elected summer sports happened on Thursday. On Friday was Mass for 5 Blue.  We had hoped we could live stream but hopefully next time. Instead we had a lovely prayer service for the solemnity of the Annunciation. There is also the opportunity every Friday morning to attend the 8am Community Mass, perhaps a Lenten consideration for the boys. Enjoy your weekend.
