Life Hacks

For many of our families, this hack will be old news - I definitely have used it for many years - but it may be new for some.

It doesn’t matter how much rice you want to cook. What matters is the amount of water you put in. And you don’t need to even measure anything. All you need is water that is a finger joint above the rice.

SO... the trick is enough water to reach the top joint of your index finger when the said finger is extended into the water down to the top of the rice. It doesn’t matter how much rice, the size of the pot, or anything else.

But wait, there is more. That’s the right amount of water, but what’s the right heat and time?

Simple, again. The highest heat, to get water boiling.

Check it regularly.

When enough water has boiled away to leave little craters in the rice, kill the heat and cover the pot.

Walk away for about 10 minutes - it is DONE!
