Introducing Our Deputy Principals
Kirrilee Westblade
Deputy Principal Catholic Identity
I have been overwhelmed by the warm welcome from all I have encountered since my arrival at St Augustine’s College. I feel very blessed to be here to work with you as the Catholic Identity Leader in 2019.
I come to the College with 24 years of experience as a teacher. I come with 16 years experience as a leader in Catholic Identity/Religious Education. For the past 16 years I have worked at St Joseph’s College in Echuca. Prior to that I worked for the Archdiocese of Brisbane, in the Office and in schools in Kingaroy and on the Sunshine Coast in Mooloolaba.
I live in Echuca with my family. My husband is Dion, my son is Jett and my daughter is Sienna. They are also excited that I have started a new job in Kyabram.
My interests include camping and waterskiing. I am also a keen traveller and, when time permits, I enjoy handicrafts such as quilting and knitting/crocheting.
I am really passionate about my job. I love working with people. I often say that… ‘it’s a beautiful thing when a career and a passion come together’. I feel very strongly that my life and work come together as a beautiful vocation.
I haven’t worked in an F- 12 school since I left Queensland, so one of my great joys over the last week has been working with and getting to know many of the students from the primary setting in the school.
I look forward to meeting as many people as possible over the coming weeks.
Carolyn Goode
Deputy Principal Wellbeing and Community
I am really pleased to be working as part of the team at St Augustine's! I feel a bit like I have returned to where it all started. I was a student at St Augustine's and it really is lovely to return as a Deputy Principal.
Teaching is my passion but I also enjoy working with teachers and students to plan for positive outcomes. I have worked in both schools and vocational education and training. I was at the Kyabram Community and Learning Centre for 12 years with the last five of those in the role as Training Manager.
I have a husband, Trevor, and two children, Charlotte and Jack (twins), and a gorgeous greyhound named Lola. I love anything old especially vintage caravans.
I am looking forward to being part of the St Augustine’s Community and meeting parents and students.
Melissa Key
Deputy Principal Student Learning and Professional Practice
I come into the Deputy Principal role having been at the College for four years. I have spent the last two years as the F-4 Community Leader for Student Learning and Professional Practice. During this time I have been able to teach and spend time as a part of learning experiences right across F-4. I am very much looking forward to having the opportunity to spend more time in learning spaces from F-12.
I bring an absolute passion for working alongside and learning with students, staff, families and research to inform best practice in education. I have been fortunate to teach and lead in a range of different school settings prior to coming to St Augustine’s.
I have really treasured my time as a part of the St Augustine’s community and look forward to continuing to contribute as Deputy Principal.
