2019 Harvest Mass
Preparations for this year’s Harvest Mass, to be held on Sunday 3rd March, are under way.
Celebration and thanksgiving for the harvest are known in every time and culture. Jesus and his people celebrated the 'Feast of Ingathering' or the 'Feast of Tabernacles.' People shared from their harvest and goods were collected for the poor.
World Day of Prayer, Reflection and Action Against Human Trafficking
Pope Francis declared the feast of St Josephine Bakhita (patron saint of victims of slavery) 8th February, to be the World Day of Prayer, Reflection and Action Against Human Trafficking, and to mark this day at the weekend Masses on 9th and 10th February.
Australians are being urged to work together, through grass roots action and corporate governance to end slavery around the world.
This special day gives us an opportunity to reflect
on what we do and what we buy and if necessary, to commit to act differently in order to work towards the elimination of slavery. Australia’s Modern Slavery Act came into effect on 1st January.

Plenary Council 2020
HAVE YOUR SAY
Over the last eight months we have prayed for the Plenary Council during our Masses; some of you may have submitted your story and experiences of life, faith and the Church; others may be still wondering what it is all about.
Our Parish Pastoral Council would like to invite you, your family and friends to have a conversation about the future of the Catholic Church in Australia and to have your say on “What do you think God is asking of us at this time?”.
A series of facilitated workshops lead by members of our Parish Council will be held in the Gathering Space in St Augustine’s Church on the following dates:
- Tuesday 19th February, 7.30pm-8.30pm
- Monday 25th February, 7.30pm-8.30pm
- Wednesday 27th February, 10.30am-11.30am
A workshop will also be held at St Sebastian’s Church, Merrigum on Monday 25th February, 11.00am–12noon.
Together, we are on a journey of listening to God by listening to one another, praying and sharing. Your voice is important. Speak boldly and with passion, listen with an open and humble heart. With faith and guided by God’s Holy Spirit, we journey together, toward the future.
