Basketball Academy

This week the Basketball Academy was fortunate to have a visit from guest coaches Phil Smyth and Steven Breheny.  

Steven Breheny represented Australia at the 1980 Olympic Games and has extensive experience as a coach.  Phil Smyth has won six NBL championships as both a player and coach and is a four time Olympian.  He currently holds the record for the most times captaining our national team.

What a great opportunity for our students to learn from professionals.  The session run by Steve had players developing individual skills before building up to working with others.  There was something for everyone with our youngest and oldest students all getting something from the session.

Its opportunities such as this and the chance to work with a great bunch of students, willing to listen and learn that make Basketball Academy one of the highlights of my week.
