Alessia McCaig (12 Jenkin)

 

Congratulations to Alessia McCaig who broke two Australian cycling records at the State Track Championships and the Melbourne Cup on Wheels events in Melbourne.

 

Alessia won the Flying 200m with a time of 11.218 (the previous record was 11.301 held for 27 years) and the 500m Time Trial breaking her own record set in Brisbane in December with a new time of 34.528.

Austin Spiteri (10 Riley)

 

Congratulations Austin Spiteri who obtained his National Water Ski rating and will be competing at the State and National titles.

 

Caitlin Richardson (11 Jenkin), Phoebe Radford (11 Riley), Ronell Masiboy (10 Jones) and Rose Kennett (10 Aherne)

 

Congratulations to Caitlin Richardson, Phoebe Radford, Ronell Masiboy and Rose Kennett, who were part of the Bendigo Braves Division 2 girls team that won the 2021 Basketball Victoria Under 18 Country Championships. 

 

The Braves Division 2 girls' finals campaign started with a 43-27 quarter-final victory over the Moe Meteors. To secure their spot in the championship match they defeated the Southern Peninsula Sharks 52-29.

 

In a stand out performance, Caitlin Richardson scored 24 points in the Grand Final for the Braves.
