Year 5 News

How quickly the term has flown! As we approach the last week of Term 1, we reflect on how productive the year has been so far.

We have progressed onto our second Inquiry Unit ‘Where We Are in Place and Time’. Our line of Inquiry is ‘How Past Events Shape the Present and the Future’, exploring Australian settlement and colonisation. This week, we focused on learning about the Australian Gold Rush, including the impact the discovery of gold had on Australia and exploring what life was like for the miners on the goldfields. Students created their own ‘wondering’ questions, this develops their critical thinking skills and encourages student led inquiry.

A reminder that the beach program has been rescheduled for Week 1, Wednesday 21 and Thursday 22  April.

We wish all our Year 5 students and families a safe and happy Easter and a relaxing break.
