Power Outage
The School has been advised that due to electrical work being undertaken for the bridge project, the school will be without power on March 17 and possibly March 18. We are hoping to have generators onsite so that the school can operate as much as possible with minimal disruption.
IT update
This year chrome books have been introduced to the Primary School for Students in Years 3 – 6. This is providing students the opportunity to develop key board skills at an earlier age. This has been a smooth transition.
The School is moving to a fibre internet service which will increase internet speeds and improve the IT experience for students and staff. If there is a future return to Quality Distance Learning, this should assist students and staff learning/teaching from home. We were hoping that this would be in place for Term 1, however the work was delayed due to border closures. We now anticipate this will occur by July.
Our IT staff have become aware that some families have purchased Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) subscriptions for student devices. This is not necessary as every student attending MAG is able to access a student copy of Microsoft Office as the School pays for a Microsoft office subscription. If you have IT queries regarding purchasing suitable devices for students from Year 7 please email help@moamagrammar.nsw.edu. Mitch and Jamie will be pleased to assist.
Gardens & Grounds
We are seeking volunteers for our upcoming working bee on Sunday 28 March from 9am – 12 noon. Thanks to the Parents & Friends who will help us promote this event, and are kindly cooking a bbq lunch for the volunteers. If you are able to assist please advise the School office or email sbarry@moamagrammar.nsw.edu.au
International Women’s Day
This year’s theme for International Women’s Day is ‘Choose to Challenge’. This day has a focus on a gender equal world, celebrating women’s achievements, raising awareness against bias and taking action for equality. We are looking forward to next Friday’s 2021 Panel Presentation of women from within the MAG School community.
