The Vox Bendigo Book 2021 Young Writers Anthology
Bendigo Writers Festival and the Rotary Club of Bendigo invite young writers to submit an entry into this year’s Vox Bendigo Book Young Writers Anthology.
Taking the theme of ‘Animal’, students in grades 3-11 are asked to create an original story, poem or essay. Successful entries will be published in the 2021 Vox Bendigo Book Young Writers Anthology in time for Wordspot, the school program at this year’s festival.
There are no set criteria for entries other than keeping to the word limit (maximum 750 words).
Students may choose to write a piece that looks at the life of animals, the animal nature lurking in us all or the way animals and humans interact. Writers may choose to write about their favourite animal, the animal that scares them most or perhaps take on the voice of an animal; tiny as a beetle, curious as an emu, fierce as a shark.
Students are invited to submit entries by Wednesday 10 March 2021. Selected entries will be notified before publication, and Animal will be launched on Wednesday 5 May.
How to enter:
- All entries must be original, unpublished and the work of one student only.
- It is preferred that entries are submitted via email to thevoxbendigobook@gmail.com in a typed and double-spaced Word document using Times New Roman 12 pt. Please do not send pdfs.
