From the Principal

Welcome Back...Again!
It has been wonderful to have everyone back at school this week. We have been able to have our senior Primary Swimming and Secondary Swimming carnivals, guest speakers have been able to return and speak with students in person and we have been able to have a parents and friends meeting. The swimming carnivals were both very successful even though we were unable to have spectators; the students thoroughly enjoyed the day and were very supportive of each other. A huge thank you to Mr Greg Cadd and the staff for their work to organise and run a fantastic day for the students.
We are continuing to plan for Year 7 and 8 camps to leave on Tuesday 9 March with teachers and some Year 11 students. This is a great opportunity for the older students to demonstrate and develop their leadership skills as well as the great connections they can develop with younger students in the school.
Unfortunately, we have had a disrupted start to the year with some staffing issues. As you may be aware Heather and Matthew Brown have left the school to relocate to Queensland with family. This and other issues have impacted many students as they have not had a consistent teacher for some classes. On Monday 1 March Mr Anthony McMahon will join the staff to teach PDHPE and HSIE, and Cindy-Lee Pedrana will join us on Tuesday 9 March to teach Year 4. We have appointed Ms Leah Thompson as the Year 10 Coordinator and she is looking forward to working closely with the Year 10 tutors, Mr Scott, the students and their families.
With the changes to some teaching staff we also need to make changes to the student timetables. These changes will begin from Monday. I apologise for any confusion or disruption this may cause.
I would also like to remind parents that we need to continue to be vigilant regarding COVID-19 and ask that you please keep children at home if they have any cold or flu symptoms.
