New Beginnings Programme

As we approach the last couple of days of New Beginnings, I encourage our Year 7s to make the most of the opportunities presented to them. Getting to know our staff, your peers and what our College represents is a priority in the remaining days.

Once New Beginnings is concluded boys can expect a more normal routine which commences back into action on Friday. Many boys might need to refresh themselves with their timetables the night before to alleviate any confusion. Being prepared for each and every class with their diary, iPad, pencil case and exercise books. Any questions throughout this period should be directed to your PC teacher.

College Commissioning:

On Friday we will gather as a College to acknowledge the Junior House Leaders in Year 8 and 9. I encourage those who are not receiving a formal batge to still rise to the challenge of leadership. Leadership is influence and I ask all our young men to reflect on the influence they have in our College each and every day. I would like to congratulate the Junior House Leaders as their influence and contribution has clearly been recognised.

Assessments and Class Work:

It is that time of the term when assessments and class work are coming towards their due dates. I encourage our boys to be organised and work towards deadlines. We need to own our learning and ask questions and seek assistance when unsure. Being proactive in your learning to give yourself the best chance of success. For parents Simon our online system provides great insight into what is due and when. Please contact the subject teacher for any clarification.

Time and Space:

Thank you to those families who have registered to take part in our time and space programmes. If you wish to register, please see details below. Further information to follow for those registered families.

Year 7 Mother and Son

This rare opportunity will stay with you forever. It is a big thing when our boys move through their times of transition. Their teenage years accelerate quickly as their ride on the adolescent rollercoaster continues. He is growing up and the opportunity to reflect on the joys and challenges of this time in yours and his life, is one not to be missed.

Year 8 Father and Son

Date: March 10. Time: 6:45-9:15pm

This rare opportunity will stay with you forever. Media attention often feasts on the reality that some famous sportsmen and celebrities fall short of being good ‘role-models’ to our boys… but we are confident that the best role-models are much closer to home. ‘Stepping Up’ taps the very best resources in our own school community… the dads (or grandfathers, older brothers or uncles) of our boys. Be part of this innovative single evening program that gives a signpost to each boy about the best ways he can ‘step up’ to be a good man.
