2020 ICAS Nomination Reminder

(Year 5- Year 12)

Just a reminder that, in addition to teacher nominations, we have opened a limited number of ICAS nominations to parents who think that their child would enjoy the challenge of sitting the tests. So if you feel that your child is particularly gifted in the area of English, Spelling, Writing, Science and/or Mathematics, please email Mr Dickson – adickson@bhcs.vic.edu.au.

Year 7 Enrolments 2022

If you have a child who is due to commence Year 7 in 2022 (and is not currently a Year 5 student at BHCS) it is recommended that you speak to the Registrar in regards to placing an application if you have not already done so. Please contact Jodie Davis via reception.

Counselling Support during Term 2 at BHCS

Analy Alfonso, a counsellor who has been working on-site at BHCS once a week supporting our community will still be available for help and support during this difficult time for students, parents, families and staff.  Analy will not be on campus until schools reopen but is still seeing clients either in person at her centre in Rowville or online.  If you or someone you know needs support at this time to cope with the pressure, isolation or changes that the COVID-19 restrictions have had on your life, please contact her directly on her email:  wellingtoncc38@gmail.com  to organise a time to talk. 

Financial Assistance for Parents & Students with Health Care Cards

CSEF (Camp Sports Excursion Funding) will be closing in Term 2, so don’t miss your chance to apply for FREE GOVERNMENT FUNDING, if you haven’t already done so.

 

Those eligible:-

1. Health Care Card, Pension Card or Veteran Affairs Card Holders;

2. Foster Parents;

3. Students over 16 who hold their own Health Care Cards

 

Please see the attached information for more details and complete and return the Application form as soon as possible.

If you received this funding last year, there is no need to reapply as this will occur automatically. If you are unsure, please contact the Finance Office or email lmiko@bhcs.vic.edu.au

Printing service available at BHCS

In order to assist families while students are Learning from Home, the School has decided to create a print service to assist families and help reduce your costs in relation to paper and printing consumables.

 

This print service will be made available as follows:

  • For educational printing only e.g. practice exam, Maths sheet, Writing sheet etc.
  • All printing will be vetted to ensure it is educational material
  • The service will be pick-up only (postage is not logistically possible)
  • Printing will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays
  • Pick up of printing can take place during school hours from Monday-Friday
  • All printing will be in black & white, with the exception of VCE subjects where colour may be necessary e.g. Geography requiring contour lines and VCE Arts subjects. In these cases the subject name must be included with a request for colour.

In order for printing to take place, it must be emailed to printing@bhcs.vic.edu.au and include the following information:

 

●     Student’s first name and last name

●     Student’s homeroom

 

Items submitted on Tuesdays and Thursdays might not be available until the following day.  If you have any questions regarding this service, please contact Reception.

Free Internet Offer 

Superloop has launched the "online learning" plans that NBN has announced that supports families with children learning remotely.

To be eligible for their Online Learning Plan, you must:

  • have a member of the household receiving the JobSeeker Payment or Family Tax Benefit Part A or Part B;
  • have a school-age child living at your address;
  • be at an address covered by the NBN network; and
  • Must not have had a service with Superloop, and have not had a nbn service with any other provider since March 1 2020.

Uniform Shop Update 

We are pleased to advise that the Uniform Shop is fully stocked with all your Winter requirements.  We encourage all families that require uniforms for Term 2 to place your orders! You are more than welcome to continue to shop online however the store has now re-opened.

 

To reduce large traffic of customers in the shop, we require any customers that wish to attend the shop for a fitting or to try on more than 2 garments to book an appointment.

 

Postage & Order Collection 

For contact free collections, customers are recommended to select home delivery on all orders which will be dispatched twice weekly. If you prefer to collect your order from the Uniform Shop please collect during the opening hours.
