Student Spotlight

Mridula S Thomas

Mridula is a current Year 11 student at JMSS and has been playing Hockey since primary school and has represented State (Vic team) in the past. She has been part of numerous Junior and Senior teams and would like to highlight some of her recent achievements for 2019 and 2018: 

  • She represented a Under 18 Victorian Rep Hockey team called Flames and they had a week long tournament in the Junior State Championships during the July school holidays competing against all other zones/regions in Victoria. Her Flames team won the grand final and are the current Hockey Victoria Junior State Championship Under 18 Girls Champions for 2019.
  • She plays for a club called TEM (Toorak East Malvern) in the Under 16 Girls Shield category and this year (2019) they were the RUNNERS UP and won the silver medal in the Hockey Victoria 2019 Winter Competition U16 Girls Shield.
  • In 2018, her team from TEM won the Premiership in the Under 16 Girls Shield category and were the PREMIERS of Hockey Victoria 2018 Winter Competition U16 Girls Shield.
  • In 2018 she also played for 2 Senior teams for TEM club in addition to the U16 girls Shield team - Penant A (ranked 3rd in the Senior team) and Reserves (ranked 2nd in the Seniors team and played a few games for Reserves)
