Principal's Report

From the Principal
Vale, Lynne Ramsay
It was with great sadness that I informed the school community this week of the passing of long-serving and dearly loved teacher, Lynne Ramsay. Lynne was “Carwatha”. She really loved this school. She was totally committed to our students and the community. She was an outstanding Maths teacher who was always willing to provide her students with extra help and support. She held many leadership positions and provided excellent service in each of the roles she undertook. Past and present students saw Lynne as an inspirational teacher who really cared about each of them. To staff, Lynne was a treasured friend and colleague, a valued mentor to many and frequently the source of lots of fun.
We have been overwhelmed with messages of support and tributes about Lynne from current and former students, staff and parents this week. She was indeed an exceptional person whose legacy will remain with this school for many years. She will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Our thoughts are with Lynne’s family at this sad time: her husband, Peter, her children Peter, Michael and Paula (all ex-students of Carwatha), their partners and her adored grandchildren. Flowers and condolences have been passed on to the family on behalf of the whole school community.
Congratulations and best wishes to Linda Stanton
I am very pleased to inform the school community that Linda Stanton, one of our Assistant Principals, has been appointed to the position of Principal of Mornington Secondary College. Linda begins her new role on Monday, April 18th, so her last day at Carwatha is Friday, April 15th. This is a well-deserved promotion for Linda who has been Assistant Principal at Carwatha for the last 7 years. During her time at Carwatha, she has provided outstanding leadership through times of significant change. She has mentored staff and provided caring and compassionate support and encouragement for students at all times. She is highly respected by staff, parents and students and we will all miss her. I would like to thank Linda sincerely for her dedicated service to this school and wish her well in her new role.
