Inter School Equestrian
During the last holidays Lucy Nelson (Year 9) competed, for the 6th year running, at the 2018 Victorian Equestrian Interschool State Championships. This was her third year representing Moama Anglican Grammar. Lucy and her pony, Thorne Park Poetry, aka George, joined 500 other riders from 172 schools over the four days of competition at Werribee Park. The Moama Anglican Grammar duo achieved Personal Bests in Combined Training (Dressage and Showjumping – where she achieved a clear round!) and pure Dressage events finishing mid-field among the 20-odd competitors in each event. Her achievement of a second place in the Novelties competition, which involved riding a games course with accuracy and speed, was a fabulous surprise.
George then showed his true colours with an almost perfect Handymount round, unfortunately going a tad slow, but still achieving a pleasing 7th place. Overall, the great company of the many friends we have made through these competitions far outwiegh the actual achievements. We would encourage any students able to compete at similar interschools competitions in the future to give it a go.
Any students interested in being a part of equestrian interschools please contact Mrs McFadden and are also welcome to contact Cheryl Nelson (nelcan1@bigpond.com) for further information about equestrian interschools. There are a number of different options for attending these competitions, although only few are held in our local area. However, the Elmore Equestrian Club are holding an Equestrian Interschools competition on the 7th & 8th July (next school holidays), which will be a qualifier for the 2019 Victorian State Championships, and is a great opportunity to represent your school close to home. Riders must be a member of EA, PCAV or HRCAV for this particular competition. More details about the Elmore Interschools will be available in the next week or so when the program is released. Further information about the interschools competitions run by EA can be found at http://www.vic.equestrian.org.au/about-interschools
Sun Country Cup
Good luck to our Senior Boys and their coach Mr Greg Cadd who are playing in the Sun Country Cup on Monday at the Moama Football Field. Our boys will be playing against teams from Echuca College, St Joe’s College and Rochester Secondary College. Thank you to Mr Greg Cadd for volunteering to coach and Mr John Sheehan for volunteering his time to referee.

CIS Swimming
During the holidays Chloe Brown (Year 7), Tahlia O’Neill (Year 8) and Ashleigh O’Neill (Year 9) all represented Moama Anglican Grammar and RAS at the CIS swimming carnival. All three girls swam well and achieved personal bests during the meet. Congratulations on representing yourselves and the school so well.
