YEAR 8 GIRLS HOCKEY
On Wednesday 14 October the Year 8 girls Hockey team ventured to Hawthorn to compete against the best in the Eastern Region.
The girls came from a variety of sporting backgrounds, which held them in good stead when it came to game sense and skill; however, it meant that they were novices to the game of field hockey.
Despite this, they played the game with an enormous level of sportsmanship and team work. The moral amongst the girls was clear to see, and the improvement in their game from the beginning of the day until the end was largely attributed to this.
Although they didn’t make it through to the next level of competition, their endeavour was that which should be applauded, and reflects the spirit in which Lilydale High School represents themselves at all levels of sporting competition.
