Class Page

This week we are hearing from 5/6 Sartoria and Hope.

Things 5/6S students love about school in 2022!

In our classroom, we discussed the things that are making school appealing in the opening weeks of the year. There was quite a bit of variety!

Comments from 5/6 students who love ART!

Carley, Grace, Poppy, Asha, Harmony and Peyton's favourite activities all happened in the art room.

We love drawing because it gives kids creativity.

Art is about putting your emotions on paper without words.

Why we like the art room:

 organised.

It's different to other classrooms.

It's so colourful.

It makes kids smile.

We love the way it's decorated.

We love the design.

Science is awesome

Comments from Holly, Riley, Jordan, Liam and Anna.

In Science, we enjoyed making paper boats and doing hands-on activities. We also liked counting how many marbles fitted in the paper boats until they sank. We enjoyed the challenges of folding a boat perfectly without making holes in one sheet of paper.

The top of the list for this group was…. PE and sport!

Comments from Urijah, Will, Liam, Kade, Jackson, Billy, Max and Taesharn.

During our group discussion, these students said, "PE and sport are a fun way to get healthy and fit!" Some of the students' sports are gaga, football, basketball, long base and rounders. They also like participating in team games requiring leadership and cooperation and developing new skills and strategies in different sports.

Arianna and Ella chose to display their thoughts about the opening highlights in the form of a table!

So far, we have enjoyed:

From 5/6H

Each semester, we encourage students to set learning goals for themselves. The students in 5/6H would like to share some of their goals with you:

Tamika – I would like to get better at reading 24 hours time.

Diesel – My goal for maths is to learn my timetables better.

Noah – I want to get better at playing more sports that make me fit and happy.

Haylee – I want to improve my reading stamina.

Joshua – I want to be a good big buddy and help out my little buddy.

Chase – I want to be more caring and speak nicely to others.

Georgie – I want to set a goal to get better at writing non-fiction and poetry.

Paige - For my maths goal, this term I want to get better at division and be able to do it easily without using my cheat sheet.

Bailey – I want to be able to make predictions when reading a book and at least get them partially correct.

Sienna - My goal in maths in Term 1 is to be able to create an angle, name what type it is and measure it accurately.

Matthew – My values goal is to be more responsible and not to leave things outside or forget to bring things in.

Angus N – I want to improve my division skills.

Angus P - I want to be able to read an analogue clock every day for the rest of my life - it would help me a lot because there is one in our class and I adore it! It helps me and the other students to learn to tell analogue time.

Jaxson - My goal for reading will be to make more accurate predictions.

Olivia – For writing, I want to use more descriptive vocabulary to make my writing more interesting.

Ashley – I want to get better at footy.

We would like to thank all our families for supporting their child in achieving their learning goals this year!
