All Year Seven Make Music

This week, Year Seven came together for their immunizations, and later that day for the first time ever as the 2022 Whole Year level Year Seven Concert Band.  For some students it was the first time they had seen their instruments and for most only the second lesson with their instrument.  We now know the fundamentals of working in a large ensemble and look forward to developing the year level as young musicians, working together to make something of beauty. 

Hamilton Eisteddfod entries are now open via the Stardom website.  Entries close 7 April.  College ensembles will be entered by the music office however individual entries should be made by parents in consultation with instrumental teachers. 

Regardless of level, performing live at an Eisteddfod is a fantastic way to demonstrate learning, gain valuable performance experience, perform for a large supportive audience, and receive constructive criticism from a highly trained and experienced performance expert.  Students may like to consider entering duet and trio sections alongside their individual sections.  This can be a great way to make music with friends.
