Face masks remain mandatory on public transport

Just a friendly reminder that masks are still mandatory on all public transport including school buses.

Premier Buses understand that even though in recent times mask-wearing mandates and restrictions have been easing, they wish to remind you that it is still mandatory on buses, at bus stops and interchanges such as train stations for students 12 and over.

Children under 12 are exempt but are encouraged to wear masks where practicable.

These restrictions are still in place under the public health act and ask the school community to support and assist in maintaining this practice during this time.

Premier Charters remains committed to the ongoing safety of the students and school community relying on their buses daily and hopes they can rely on your assistance in maintaining a safe environment while travelling on their buses.

The Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD)

The Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD) takes place every year. The NCCD is a collection that counts:

the number of school students receiving an adjustment or ‘help’ due to disability and the level of adjustment they are receiving to access education on the same basis as other students.

Students are counted in the NCCD if they receive ongoing adjustments at school due to disability. This ‘help’ allows them to access education on the same basis as a child without disability.  Schools provide this information to education authorities.

Please read the attached information and be informed about this important data collection.

School Handbook Snippet

ANAPHYLAXIS

Several children in the school are allergic to Nuts, Eggs, Seafood, Fish and Dairy, some of these food items are life threatening. All parents are requested to refrain from sending children to school with peanuts, peanut butter, peanut products including Nutella type spreads, fish (Yr 3 only), and whole eggs.
This policy is enhanced by the ‘No sharing of Food’ rule.

Students with anaphylaxis, requiring an EpiPen, must provide the school with an annual Anaphylaxis Medical Plan completed by a ‘General Practitioner’. These students should carry their medication on their person at all times.
