The Principal's Pen

It is encouraging to see the positive responses of our students and families to troubling circumstances in our world. The recent Poverty Day is just one of those responses, where students focus on how they can help in large-scale problems. It is important to remember that there are quite a few instances of people being told "don't be afraid" in the bible. It reminds us that we have a God who is bigger than our circumstances. But, not being afraid is not the same as not being concerned. Fear prevents action while concern prompts action.

As our students face the rest of this term with uncertainty showing up in so many places, we continue to pray for a safe and calm school, without fear.

"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." Deuteronomy 31:6
