Covid Update - 25/02/2022

A number of Covid restrictions have been lifted for the general community. However for schools the following restrictions are in place.

Face masks are still required to be worn by Years 3 to 6 students inside buildings. They are not required to wear them in the playground. Due to our grade 2/3 grade structure we we will continue to encourage our grade 2 students to wear masks when inside.

Staff, parents and visitors no longer need to wear a mask as of Monday inside the school building or on the grounds. But if individuals wish to do so that is their choice.

RAT's will continue to be made available to families for the remainder of the term.

Assemblies and other gatherings are unable to be implemented until advice from DET changes.

I would like to thank the families who have informed the school of any positive contacts in their household.

Staffing - classroom teachers

We are experiencing difficulty replacing teachers and educational support staff when they need to be on personal leave. We are replacing teachers with replacement teachers as a priority, but we are experiencing a shortage of replacement teachers. However we will need to split grades on days when multiple teachers are absent and no replacements are available. We appreciate this situation is not ideal, but given the current situation we have very few options available to us.

Late arrival to school

Our SENTRAL sign in kiosk is functioning expected....at last! If your child is late to school, they need to go to the office to sign in. They will receive a print out which they take to their teacher.

Now as we enter the fifth week of term, almost the mid point of the term, we do expect less children coming to school late. We appreciate the school morning can be hectic, but we ask parents to understand that teachers have started the school day and there is an expectation students have arrived at school before or around 8.50 am.

Interschool Sport

It's back! Yes our kids will be participating in interschool sport this term. The current dates are in the calendar which aligns with the dates on SENTRAL.
