Senior School

Years 11 & 12

Yr 11 LUNCHTIME STUDY

As mentioned on the Middle School page Year 9 and Year 11 Lunchtime Study Room has been established to support students at these year levels.

This Study Session Opportunity will be available one day per week at lunchtime and is a dedicated space for students at this year level to complete homework and revision.

As always, the MRC continues to be a study hub for our senior students and we encourage them to avail themselves of this space after school.

Yr 12 FOOD STUDIES

Last week the Year 12 Food Studies students made Mini Lemon Tarts.  We have also made many healthy savoury meals so far like coconut and chicken rice paper rolls, teriyaki pork with spicy slaw, kimchi and miso noodle soup and baked sweet potato risotto, so we included a sweet treat that we discussed should only be eaten in small amounts because of the significant amounts of fat and sugar in this dish.

However there was lots of food science to be learnt by preparing this dish.  There was coagulation of the egg protein in the lemon curd and aeration occurred in the egg whites.  The mini meringues which were placed on top of the tarts made them visually appealing.
