St Mary's Parish News

Tell the Good News!  Mark 16:15

He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.”

Telling the Good News is the Sandhurst Diocese gospel theme for 2022.

The word ‘gospel’ means Good News. God sent his Son, Jesus, to teach the Good News, to share God's kingdom on earth. After his death and resurrection, He sent the Holy Spirit to his followers, and they were able to continue his work- to preach the gospel, baptize those who believed, and teach the communities to understand and follow His way. As the communities, in turn, passed the message on to others, the church continued to grow, assured always that Jesus was working with his people. When Jesus said “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation” this was a command he gave his disciples. This was the disciple’s call to mission- and today we too are called to mission through our words and actions. A perfect example of this has been our Project Compassion focus during Lent- fasting, prayer and almsgiving- service to others.

Project Compassion for Caritas update.

So far we have raised over $685 for Caritas- Project Compassion - Well done everyone! We have a few more events lined up between now and the end of term to try to hit $1000.

‘Move it in March’ update.

We have had two Fridays where many students, parents and staff have taken advantage of beautiful morning weather to walk, socialise and raise money. Year 6 ‘Serve’ leaders have been collecting coins from students who have been walking. Keep it up this Friday!
