Touch Trials
On Tuesday 1st of March, the Wagga Wagga Diocesan Touch trials were held at Jubilee Park with Kildare entering girls and boys Under 15’s teams, as well as some senior students trialing as individuals. The Under 15’s girls team had a tough first game up against last year's winners, Mater Dei Catholic College. Our players excelled early in the game and went on to beat Mater Dei two tries to one. After such a strong start, the girls continued their winning form and won the rest of their games, coming up against some fast competition from teams from Canberra/Goulburn, St Francis Leeton and Marion Catholic College Griffith.
Congratulations to Annabelle Willis, Holly Williams, Olivia Driscoll and Abby Hodge who were all selected in the Wagga Wagga Diocesan team bound for Nelson Bay for the NSW CCC trials later in the term. Eloise Murphy, Shayla Watson and Charlie Clout also impressed selectors and made the Open Girls team.
The Under 15's boys were younger than usual, however, were never in doubt winning their games against Mater Dei, St Francis, Marion and Canberra/Goulburn.
Well done to Diezel Watson, Jag Ashcroft, Tyler Jordan, Angus Banks, Zac Connolly and Hunter Higgins on making the Diocesan team.
Well done also to Cohen Benson, Billy Maher, Campbell Mattingly, Lochie Cole, Murray Beer, Hunter Schultz, Campbell Tuilakeba, Will Field and Lachie Field on making the Seniors Diocesan team.
