Join us at the Twilight Swimming Carnival
The St Anne's College Twilight Swimming Carnival will be held at Aquamoves, 25 Tom Collins Drive, Shepparton, on Wednesday March 16 from 4:30pm to 7:30pm. Foundation - Year 2 children will participate in games in the outdoor children's pool from 4:30pm for approximately 30 to 45 minutes. The Year 3 and Years 7 - 10 program will commence in the main outdoor pool from 4:30pm.
All School of Wonder children (Foundation to Year 3) must be supervised by a parent during the swimming carnival. Families of all students are welcome to attend the swimming carnival. Students and their families are to make their own way to Aquamoves. This is a BYO picnic dinner event. Food deliveries and student purchases from the Aquamoves Cafe are not permitted. Years 7 - 10 students whose parents are not attending the carnival must be picked up by a parent at the Aquamoves gate at the conclusion of the carnival. We are looking forward to a wonderful evening of team spirit and community connection.
Alick a swimming success, Jane not so reliable
When Jane forecasts clearing showers and a top temperature of 28 degrees, one doesn’t expect to be confronted with increasing rain and a maximum of 23, but that is exactly what our band of 12 intrepid swimmers experienced at the recent district swimming event. Still, what’s a bit of rain when you’re jumping into water anyway!
Led by the very capable Alick Jarvis, St Anne’s College was able to bring home an Age Champion (Alick) and several other placings, including a third in the Men’s 16-year-old freestyle relay where two of our swimmers were 16-year-old Women’s competitors.
Congratulations to the following students on representing our college and best wishes to Alick as he goes on to represent our division at the Hume region competition next Tuesday.
GMDSSSA competitors: Patrick, Liam, Riley (3rd relay), Corey, Ella (3rd relay), Ava, Elisabeth, Johal, Brooke (3rd relay), Tom (3rd 50m freestyle, breaststroke and butterfly), Ash and Alick (16-year-old Men’s Age Champion, 1st 200m freestyle, 50m freestyle, 50m butterfly, 2nd 50m backstroke, 3rd Men’s 16-year-old relay).
