Around the Traps - 2/3C

2/3 C has been doing great work in all areas this week, here is a little run down of what we have been up to.

Maths

Our focus has been on Shape students have been identifying 3D shapes and discussing their characteristics so they understand that we live in a 3D world. Students can name some, describe the features and make a model of  3D shapes.

Literacy

In writing lessons, we are working on understanding the structure of narrative texts

And writing a plan for and writing a narrative. Our reading focus ties in nicely with our writing focus in that we are trying to reduce the repetition of basic language when writing. We are also working on identifying when authors are using strong, interesting words in their writing. 

RE (Religion)

This week students have been given the opportunity to discover ways to use their gifts and talents to serve others during Lent as a preparation for Easter.

We have also been looking at the life of St. Joseph and how he was chosen by God to protect Mary and Jesus.
