PRIDE CLUB BAKE SALE

Early in the morning we began to set up for the bake sale. Students from both Main and East campus came in with delicious homemade baked goods. Our tables were full of colour and joy. All proceeds went to youth LGBTQI+ youth organisation Minus18. Pride Club is pleased to announce that we have raised a total of $1008.80! What an amazing effort, this could not have been achieved without the McKinnon magic of a strong, caring and inclusive community.

In the weeks prior, students came in at lunchtime to create colourful signs to hang up around the school to celebrate IDAHOBIT day. This was an important day for Pride Club to celebrate as it marks that on May 17 1990, the World Health Organization removed homosexuality from the Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems.

Students and staff came together at lunchtime to sell baked goods for a great cause. The MERC was covered in colour and good vibes. The music was playing and Chilli was our mascot, soaking up all the sugary fun.

Over at East Campus, students decked out the wooden stairs with beautiful flags, wonderful bakes and a sensational atmosphere. Events like these keep our campuses connected and in support of each other, all while giving back to the community around us.
